Dr Peter Carey

Peter is Past National President, Life member and Fellow of the Career Development Association of Australia. Prior to being elected President in 2005 to 2008, Peter served for 21 years on the National Executive, predominately as National Treasurer, chaired several sub-committees and was a founding member of the Association. He regularly runs educational workshops in the field of career development and ICT with both School and business personnel. He regularly runs continuing education workshops in the field of career development and ICT with both School and business personnel. Peter received a Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Contributions to the Curriculum Council presented by Minister of Education (presented 2010).

He was an Executive member of the Tasmanian Division and currently serves as President, Western Australian Division. Peter has been an organising committee member of several CDAA national conferences and has served on the board of the Career Industry Council of Australia. He has more than 30 years experience in the career development field, having worked with organisations and individuals in the public, private, community and education sectors. Peter’s research and work has been published in numerous Australian and international journals and he has been invited to speak at several national and international conferences.

Peter is Consultant: Digital Technologies for the Catholic Education Office of WA where he is responsible for assisting principals and teachers in learning, teaching and assessment. Peter has done consultancy work for the University of Notre Dame, Edith Cowan University and the Curriculum Council (now School Curriculum and Standards Authority).
